Relevant Podcasts and Videos – The Brooklyn Tabernacle Forum

Similar to the other Resources sections, Relevant Podcasts and Video Presentations provides a starting point to become empowered and equipped, learning and understanding dynamics of toxic, abusive environments. It is important to understand that systems are not all exactly alike, nor are all leaders exactly alike. Rather, there are points of commonality that will be recognized in each setting, among similar leaders, even though exact details, belief systems, and group goals may vary widely. Identifying behaviors, tactics, actions, common to toxic, abusive Christian organizations are an important component of allowing the Light of Truth to shine brightly inside of the walls of churches like The Brooklyn Tabernacle.

Since there is so much material provided in the Resources sections, start small. Listen to a podcast episode. Subscribe to one of the recommended podcasts. Watch a video presentation. Take breaks to process. Ask trusted friends to join alongside. Keep an open mind. Ask questions, even the uncomfortable questions. Whenever something elicits a defensive response, ask why it does. Reread the Abuse of Faith and Biblical Support sections, for additional guidance.
