Dear Pastor Jim Cymbala and Brooklyn Tabernacle Staff,
I write with deep concern and a heavy heart regarding the systematic cover-ups and continuing abuses within your church and community.
Despite attempts to discredit valid claims, the truth remains evident, evident in the lives affected and the scars of spiritual and rampant abuse.
jim has tried to discredit my claims but all he is done is validate my claims with his lies to staff and church members .Proverbs 28:13 reminds us, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” The perpetuation of silence only deepens wounds and hinders healing.
The effects of sexual abuse are insidious, permeating generations and causing irreparable harm. As a survivor, I stand firm in demanding accountability. This isn’t solely about my experience; it’s about the many voices silenced through the years.
Matthew 18:6 warns, “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
The responsibility to protect and uphold righteousness lies heavily on the shoulders of leaders.
I refuse to be swayed by attempts to silence me through intimidation tactics. It’s time for accountability, not just for my sake, but for the sake of all who have suffered and continue to suffer.
The truth cannot be buried beneath legal threats or dismissive attitudes. I implore you to acknowledge the gravity of these matters and take definitive steps toward genuine accountability.
Sincerely,
Paul Brewer - December 25, 2023 at 9:21 pm #4449CymblahParticipant
Merry Christmas everyone!
@Paul_Br we are all with you and I second your call to have Ol’ JC’s pants permanently zipped up!
In the spirit of Christmas, here’s a song I thought you might enjoy. Only in this case, The Grinch actually repented!
Here’s to Jimmy – the Predator Pastor, the Pulpit Pretender, Handsy Preacher, the Righteous Reveler and of course…
The Grinch.
